Why did you choose your profession?
From college through my owner company career and my consulting career of today, I followed my passion of working with many great teams of people along with utilizing my technical mastery strengths. Project Construction Management provided me this opportunity in my daily communication and interactions up and down through the organization and contract firms.
What is the most important thing to do to be effective in your role?
Continue to grow your network of resources, build relationships and trust. Effectively Listen to others. Make everyday a two-way learning event.
Have you ever had an incident that changed you, and how did you approach it with your role?
I have had various significant events both in and outside of work that have influenced and modified my thoughts and behavior. Early in my career, I had a project that went under a lot of critique, comments and views. My feelings and thinking raced all across the board.
One of my key mentors came by and shared this view. Stay on the “high ground.” Do not get swallowed up into the small stuff. The right position and next steps will resolve. Stay calm and follow your cultural beliefs.
What do you want everyone to know about safety?
Make zero safety incidents a core behavioral belief in your life both at home and at work. Safety is an integral priority in our purpose, value and principles.
What is your superpower?
I do not have a superpower but I strive to expand my endurance in the next part of my life’s plan, career, in combination with giving back. I would like to touch more people, learn and share more experiences, drive cultural behavior knowledge, while continually raising the bar in our Construction Industry.
